Best budget burgular alarm system?

Hi fokks,

I have had a response wireless home alarm system the kind bought at b and q for the last 10 years and its time to get a new one as its got very tempermental not working properly remotes not working right etc and response don't do the spares any more.

I am thinking of going with a wired system notthing fancy no need for a monitored one where it calls a central number etc.

I have just seen this on ebay and wonder what do you think?

I will probably get someone to install it, just wondering are the wires that connect the detectors a bit unsightly around the ceiling and is it a bit problem hooking it up to the electric?

Do you think overall it will be more dependable than the wireless one?

If you know of any better makes for the same price abouts would be grateful if you might let me know.

many thanks

Personally speaking I would pay a little bit extra for a wireless system and fit it yourself. They are plenty of solid wireless autodialler systems on eBay. Just make sure you buy one from a reputable seller with a good track record. I bought a wireless gsm one and it has been great.
