Solar PV electricty generation

Hello

I understand that if you were to have a PV installation, you would get around 43p for each KwH you generated. If you fed the electricity back into the grid you would get a further 3p

However, having just checked my most recent electricity bill, I see that I'm paying around 12p per KwH.

So does that mean that your average Utility Company is making a massive markup on the power they receive from domestic PV installations which they then sell on to Joe Public? Or is this just another reason to hate Utility Companies?

The 42p kwh you get from each KWH generated comes from the the utility company, it not government funded. So for every Kwh you feed into the rid it they loose 33p plus the 42p you loose each time you generate and use a Khw

Before the Feed In tariffs came in you got about 9p per unit, so about right.
