I have a job interview on Monday and I have written a beautiful powerpoint presentation using a new Office 2010(?) software.
The work laptop however runs on XP and even saving my lovely presentation as a ppt rather than pptx file it wont run.
Is there any way that I can convert my presentation into a format that will run on a powerpoint pre 2003?
I am ready to cry I am so stressed!!

Do you have Open Office (download for free from https://www.openoffice.org) on your machine too? Will that open it and let you save it in another format?0

Can you bring your (hopefully) laptop to work?
According to this page, the free Powerpoint Viewer works with files created in Office 2010:
http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=13
Be aware:
Note PowerPoint Viewer registers with the .ppt, .pptx, .pptm, .pot, .potx, .potm, .pps, .ppsx and .ppsm file extensions only if a version of PowerPoint is not installed on your computer. If registered, double-clicking on these file types will launch PowerPoint Viewer.
So you may have to open the file on the work computer using the 'Open with' option in the context menu.0 -

I cant use my own laptop - unfair to the others if they have to use this piece of carp!
I have used the compatibility checker and it says it is saved as 1997-2003 and I can view it on the work laptop but not run a slide show with it.0 -
I cannot download anything onto the work laptop - which I have home with me to retype my presentation on0

Will Open Office not open the Powerpoint file? I was thinking you could save a copy as Open Office format then save it again as Powerpoint to see if it then works. Bit of a long shot maybe!
If anyone on here has Office 2010 and Office XP perhaps you could email it to them for them to have a try? I would offer, but I don't have XP.0 -
Will try that now - hope something works as am I starting to get slightly stressed!!!
What I cant work out is why the compatibilty wont work when it saves to a ppt0 -
Work restriction unfortunately0

I can retype it onto the works laptop but there are no decent templates so it will look awful whereas someone with an older version of office will be able to run theirs normally. How can I be punished for having a new office package!!!!!!0
