I've purchased this fan to be fitted in my bathroom, which has a backdraft integral flap on it - apparantly.

It will be fitted to external wall in bathroom - but what do I fit on external wall? Can't just leave a hole in the wall on the outside surely??
Think I have to buy some plain white plastic piping for vent to be attached to??, but must need to buy something to fit on external wall. Can anyone please suggest something for this? Thanks

Yes that what you want, had one fitted last year just stick it in the holes and apply mastic around it0

hmm got to get up a ladder then. Need to find someone not scared of heights.....hopefully my sparky will play ball & fit it as part of the package. Many Thanks0

I had a fan fitted last year and its got some sort of switch in the loft to regulate when fan goes off, he didnt like going on loft. Its fairly easy job to fit the grill though. I took my old fan out and got a replacement and sparky fitted it in an connected to a fan switch which goes off a predetermined time0

You might find that the fan comes with a kit for the outside of the wall. If not, then you can easily buy a grill to cover the opening and also a length of plastic ducting as well. Or the supplier might well sell the bits you need as extras.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
Think I've found what I need from Screwfix - now you folk have given me indication of bits required. Also, seems like I can just mastic the vent on the outside wall - won't have to worry about screws high up on ladder?? Thanks again0
