I was or so I thought running an agency with Littlewoods, they delivered goods to my customers home address November/December 2010, that customer then lost her job in Feb 2011 so asked to reduce her payments from £200 a month to £70 a month, I contacted Littlewoods asking them to take her remainding balance off my account and they said there were forms that needed sigining, then they emailed me back and said my Littlewoods was only for my own use... I then questioned why did they deliver goods to the customer then... I have still yet to get an answer from them, but they have now put my account into arrears and charging me £12 insufficient payment every month, as customer has still not got back to her payments, can they do this and where would I stand legally, as I have always had a good account with them, but now they will not remove the customers balance and wont answer why they delivered goods directly to her.
and yet still expect me to clear the arrears,

Have I got this correct ? littlewoods gave you a credit account to purchase things. You are using this as a selling account for you as in a business account. So you had a customer who bought the item that you ordered on your account and you want to know why littlewoods put your account into arrears when your customer did not pay . A littlewoods account is not a selling account its a CREDIT account for YOUR USE ! If you tell them deliver to an alternative address they will that does not mean you have a business relationship with them.0

It used to be common for Littlewoods' customers to operate as agents and encourage friends and family to order items from their catalogue.
Typically customers got their own payment card and the Littlewoods Agent would collect payments every week, fortnight or month.
I thought this business model had died out and Littlewoods now dealt with all customers directly.
OP: did you receive commission for the sales you made?0 -
It seems Littlewoods stopped doing this type of business some years ago (I happened to be on the phone to them when I saw this thread) the woman assured me there are no business accounts anymore, and haven't been in a long time. Accounts are for personal usage online.
So, I'd check over how you set up the account. Was it online? If so, I believe the credit agreement tells you the account is for your usage only. It certainly says that inside the latest catalogue.
You'll probably need to find whatever it was that made you think it was a business account, and use this to refute little woods. You might find you are responsible for her payments though....I believe little woods do allow reduced payments but only by small amounts, and they begin to charge interest.
Maybe you could claim against your customer for the goods back, though?0 -
I remember it years ago but thought them accounts were long gone.0

Seems littlewoods have made a lot of changes recently, I rarely use the catalogue and really only keep it for emergencies and the odd occasion when something is cheaper than argos.
I have commission from an item i bought some time back and have received a letter friday saying if i dont buy something soon i will lose that commission. Nice of them to tell me.
They dont bother sending me a catalogue so buying from them is never my 1st choice. Usually when im bored and have a quick look before buying elsewhere.
They also changed the way they work the bills out without telling me. If i overpaid they took the excess off next months bill which confused me at 1st but now they dont.
Also the statement reads like a CC statement saying paying the minimum takes longer to clear the balance & extra charges etc... I always thought a 20/38 week payment took 20/38 weeks to pay off.. No extra charges for paying on time.
But losing the commission if i dont spend anything this season sounds like blackmail.
Shame really i wanted to save that up towards a sofa unit. Looks like i need another plan for that.

I am a littlewoods customer and am really angry about the fact they seemed to have made it very difficult and confusing to pay your balance.
I always use the buy now pay later offer and perviously would recieve a statement telling me the minimum payment to ensure the balance is paid in time, i used this to make direct debit payments.
They now no longer do this and it is extremely hard to check your balance on-line, you now have to download the statement and sift through pages to find how much you owe.
They also require you to phone and specify where your payments are going and if you don't do this you build up credit on your account which they do not use to pay your buy now pay later. Therefore you can end up defaulting even if there is money in your account.
They also require when ordering that you specify what credit plan you take if you don't pay within the buy now pay later period, making the amounts huge compared to the original pricing, this is also what shows on your statement, further confusion!!!!!
I intend to email littlewoods with my complaints and to tell them i will no longer be shopping with them despite being a customer for years.
It seems to me that this has been implemented to make it harder for people to pay off in the credit period therefore earning them more interest!!!!!I don't get nearly enough credit for not being a violent psychopath.0 -

If you log on to your online account, you can select to pay off a buy now pay later. It lets you enter your own amount or pay it all, and tells you when it is due.
I do hate the statements though, and the way they take the interest of your credit limit, making it look very confusing and expensive!0 -
I received 3 statements last year that failed to mention payments i had made on a bnpl deal.
The last bill showed the correct balance though. As soon as this is paid its bye from me, I am obviously not
the type of customer they want.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
