Housework

Can I just make it clear that this is a lighthearted vent about my husband - I am very grateful that he helps out round the house, he just needs more training ;)

To my husband :

Why do you insist on using ALL the products to do the cleaning? Seriously, three or four sprays of antibac is enough on the kitchen worktops, it all gets covered when you wipe the surface down. And as for the bathroom - there is more to it than pouring half a bottle of bleach down the toilet  When did you last wipe over the tiles? Or clean all the toothpaste scuzz from down the side of the sink (and while we're on the subject, the brushing does most of the work not the toothpaste so how about you don't use so much that your mouth is full and you spray it all over the sink in the first place? :D)?
Have you even noticed the toilet brush? It's not an ornament!

Generally hubs stays away from the bathroom when it comes to cleaning as my standards of cleanliness are higher than his, and I know these things are small and insignificant on the grand scheme of things (Lord knows how lucky I am to have a husband that does his fair share) but I just wanted to get it off my chest as he doesn't seem to listen when I moan at him about it.

Thanks for 'listening'!

Lol - it is a husband thing - at least he tries - encourage him and give him tips on how to do it better. They all need a little training - ;-)

See, there's your problem, right there.

If women could just lower their standards to below that of any male partner involved they would magically find that the responsibility for the housework passed to their other half.

    Seemples! :D

Cleaning....is an 'ing' word as in washing, ironing, shopping, hoovering, dusting, cooking etc and as such is a female duty.

    ...where's my coat?

I mean that he 'helps out' by doing anything at all! All too often I see on here women complaining that their partner doesn't do anything...so I know I am lucky.

I see your point but dustballs rolling across the floor as I'm laying in the bath / sat on the toilet really doesn't do it for me...

On the flip side, I'm not allowed to hoover as apparently I don't 'do it the right way'...

Oh Gordikin, I have learnt the error of my ways. Please say I can divorce my husband and come and live with you and do all your 'ings' :rotfl:

    Really?

I find they add a little welcome interest to the environment.

I once saw my DH hoover around a pair of slippers in the middle of the floor - bless him, it's the thought that counts :)

I think they all hoover around obstacles - really why move them and waste all that energy!
