I suggest you spend your time waiting for the bank to pay out reading this forum ... you'll have plenty of time"Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100

Credit cards and bank charges are different things.
Since the banks won the court case, they are only refunding on goodwill basis. The FOS are no longer taking bank charge complaints.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). Just to get my 2p in
I had a row with Natwest about 2 months ago re charges, after sending an account £20 over the overdraft and was not notified.
This year has been a particularly slow one work-wise, with the work there, but not the money there even was last year due to rising costs etc etc, and after hearing we were struggling, they have agreed to refund the charges after only letting us know after £30 had elapsed.
At first, this met refusal, however putting it exactly as it was, that I have a (very expensive) 6yr old to feed, clothe etc and that even running a Music/PR company sometimes doesn't mean there's money there, especially with problems with Santander and Barclays pending further action, they sorted the problem out.
The main thing to remember is that it's necessary to be blunt and to put a point across, especially if you're budgeting on a knife-edge every month and could (don't look at the figures below, this year's going to be nothing like that!) collapse at short notice, leaving a recurring spiral!
Explain the whole situation to them in a determined manner and you should (in theory) win!💙💛 💔0
