Laminate flooring threshold advice needed

Options
I've just laid laminate flooring in our diner and need some advice regarding securing the threshold. On the diner floor I used 6mm fibreboard underlay and the adjoining kitchen is floored with 2 layers of vinyl (the lower being glued to a concrete floor). The threshold is 1.6m wide and laminate boards overlap the underlay onto vinyl by about 10cm. For 75% of the width of the threshold the boards lay flat but the other 25% the edge sits proud by about 5mm and it seems that the kitchen floor is lower in this area. At the moment I have it secured with a 25mm aluminium threshold bar secured to the kitchen floor with masonry nails but this means that one side of the floor edge is slightly sprung, squeaks and I'm concerned that this is not a lasting solution and may result in the board splitting or the threshold lifting. Anyone able to offer any advice?

Thanks

    Can you upload a pic. This is far too complex to try and visualize.

    Not sure how clear this will be...

    Threshold ---->

    Laminate ---->
    ___ <-- Vinyl
    Underlay ---->

    <-- Vinyl
    Diner Floor --> ___ ___ <-- Kitchen Floor

    I have never seen a clearer explanation. Fill the 5mm gap with some packing.

    Might have misunderstood you but can you not wedge the 25% thats higher to stop it flexing. Otherwise, can't see any other way except to bring the kitchen floor up leve somehow? Can you find an edging strip that has a 'step' in it's profile? Something like that, screwed down would stop the flexing?

    Forcing the flooring to conform with your wishes by willpower and a few nails won't work.

    You need to take up the flooring at this threshold. Apply some SLC to level it up and do it again. Simples.
