Garmin Nuvi 350 help

Trying to sort out the future mother in laws sat nav, anyone got any suggestions to fixing it or is a bin job.

Its a Garmin Nuvi 350 Euro model. She assures me she hasnt done anything to it. For some reason its suddenly not holding a very long charge and also every time you connect the power supply, be it car charger, mains charger etc, it comes up with a usb connect to computer type screen so you cant use the nav.

This is the screen that comes up

Cheers santer, forgot to say i have also tried an update.

Suppose i will have to contact Garmin direct. Not sure how helpful they will be though as it was purchased second hand about a year ago.

Being second hand shouldn't make a difference, it's still their product

Ask if it is subject to their battery recall

    Hope it goes well

I don't have a 300 series Nuvi but I think its basically a non widescreen version of the 600 series which I do have.

Battery eventually goes bad... I think the effects of being roasted stuck to a windscreen is the main cause. You can get replacement batteries on ebay but you have to disassemble the unit to replace them.

The other problem you are having is just the way the unit works. The mini USB connector is only used to charge the battery or connect to a computer. The navigation will only work if running from battery power or it is connected to its car cradle where the power for the unit is supplied through the connector underneath the flipout antenna.
