Well, here's a bit of free feedback for the BBC.

Whilst I & others found your site easy enough to navigate, others found it bleddy impossible!

When you go for deals like this can you cancel the subscription just by cancelling the direct debit with your bank?

You just send them an email and they reply quickly

Correct - just cancel it on your online account, no need to contact the BBC.

It's not rude, it's the way it works.

Sorry to be a bit dim, but is the promo code box on a page after you input payment details as I can't see it before then?

Not really. Click on your preferred magazine. You'll see a couple of standard subscription offers. There will also be a promotional box. Input the code into the promotional box. Hey presto you get the 5 for £5 offer pop up

Thanks but it gives me a choice of a £19 option or £81 and there is no promotional code box (unless i click on the renewals tab and as I am a new customer, I don't have an account to log into there, so can't do that.)

I am honestly not normally this clueless! :-)
