Lloyds TSB "added value" accounts re: travel insurance/motor cover - your thoughts?

Previously had LTSB added value account. I don't anymore, having worked out that what I was paying per year and using did not add up.
However, what about the following:
1). Travel insurance required. Silver account costs £7.95/month. Upgrading to a silver account would cover the account holder and their partner for European travel. Thus giving travel insurance for under £4/person. You could cancel the account when you return. Any problems you see doing this?
2). AA cover. Although there are potentially cheaper alternatives - if we compare like for like i.e. AA insurance bought from their website vs. having an added value account which is a joint account, therefore giving 2 people cover, is this a worthwhile thing to do?
Interested to hear what people think.

You could get European travel insurance from Nationwide for nothing and the basic breakdown cover that is included with the Lloyds silver account via topcashback for a net cost of £9 per person per year.0

Is the travel insurance from Nationwide for your partner too?
Is it still dependent on a certain amount going through your account each month?0
