I live on private land and rent a plot off my landlord which i have my static caravan sited on, and my landlord provides the electricity and sends me a bill every 3 months, my first bill was very little and it was disscused with my landlord at the time that the meter wasnt reading corectly. 9 months on and the landlord has now fitted a new meter however they now say they will send me a bill for the units they think ive used, is this allowed and is there an accurate way of doing this or is it just a guess?

    It will probably be estimated.

If you have an alternative proposal, why not put it forward as a suggestion?

    Welcome to the forum.

Landlords are not allowed to make a profit by re-selling electricity.

They can easily fit a meter and calculate exactly how much electricity you have used.

However, assuming he is on a domestic tariff, he will be paying a 'standing charge' for electricity(daily/monthly or by paying more for the first xxx units - the tier system) and it would be reasonable that you pay a proportion of this charge.

You might be better waiting to see what sort of charges he makes before getting into a dispute.
