Four Credit Searches By Aqua In Two Days

I recently applied for the Aqua Credit card and while going through my credit report today, was shocked to see four recorded searches made by Aqua (Halifax) within a period of two days

Called up CreditExpert immediately and was told they'd be raising an enquiry with Halifax to get them removed. But they could only see two searches on their system, one on the 16th and the other on the 17th, not four ?

I then called up Aqua Card services and the very helpful lady told me she'd be getting all the extra searches removed and also told me I've been accepted for the card and the agreement is in the mail.

But I'm still kinda concerned. What should I do or who else should I call ? Or should I be writing an email etc. to someone and what should I put in ? How long will the searches take to go away ?

I'd really appreciate any help on this.

It doesnt say what the search types are. One could be credit check. The other could be identity check.

Aqua have a habit of doing this, this isn't the first one of these I'v read on here.

Experian will get the removed for you if you contact them.

After complaining to Experian and Halifax, this is the e-mail I received from Experian today:

    Our Ref: EXP/xxxxxxx

    Dear Mr. xxxx

    YOUR QUERY:

    - Halifax PLC (Searches dated 17/06/11 and 16/06/11)

I have received a reply to the query we raised on your behalf.

    THE OUTCOME:

Halifax PLC have advised that you made two applications. One on the 16/06/11 and one on the 17/06/11. They have asked us to delete the duplicate searches from each date on your report.

    WHAT I AM DOING:

I am deleting the searches as asked.

Your report will change in the next seven days.

    WHAT NEXT:

If you would like a letter to confirm the above change, please let me know.

Keep viewing your credit report to see any changes.

    FURTHER INFORMATION:

This change to your credit report might also mean a change to your Experian Credit Score.

You can find out more about what the Experian Credit Score is and how it can help you by taking a look at the Score Centre. You can find this by logging into your CreditExpert membership and clicking on the ?Score? tab.

But I only made the second search on the 17th after I was advised to by Aqua. Else there's no point in making two applications.

I received my Aqua credit card yesterday.

Does Halifax mean the duplicate search on the 17th would be removed ? Or one search each from the 16th and 17th ?

    What should I do ?

Experian told you they could only see two searches on their system

You see four searches on the version Experian let you see

are you sure you are not experiencing the technical problem mentioned in this thread ?
Lenders will only see each entry once.

Nope. There wasn't any technical fault. Just two different kind of searches each day over a period of two days.

I've just checked my credit file again, and the searches have been deleted.

There's not even a single search by Halifax anymore.

Thanks Halifax and Experian, and keep up the good work :)
