More to the point make sure the address bar says it's paypal because you can make a link look like its going to paypal when it doesn't.
Clicking anybodies link on a forum or website can potentially take you somewhere other than the link text suggests. Hovering the mouse over the link text will show the real link in the status bar with most browsers.

There are other ways of obscuring the target which are far less easy to see. Best to hand type it then bookmark it and only use your own bookmark.0
