Bad tempered

An annual check up is usually pretty basic, have you described to your vet exactly how far things have deteriorated? Cats are masters at hiding pain - my boy was PTS in February with nothing on physical examination and nothing on blood tests, physically in great shape to the point the vet commented on his muscularity and coat condition. Yet he had two large tumours sufficient to be in pain: even the vet was shocked from the minor and intermittent changes in behaviour I reported.

Also does your pet insurance cover a behaviourist? You are calling this a temper tantrum, which is anthropomorphising rather than getting into a feline's mindspace. I've never heard of a cat hating Feliway only being calmed or it having no effect. You might post over on Purrsinourhearts forum, as there are many rescues represented and thus a level of experience not seen many other places. You might also consider whether you are willing to rehome one of your cats should this not be resolvable, as really it does not sound like your older cat has the same quality of life she once did.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -

I have two torties who can be bad tempered especially with the vet! I've had torties before who have been the same...my old vet told me it was their natural tempermant (sp?) - he used to cringe every time I walked in with them!
I guess I just live with their behaviour - mine are nearly 10 now and I just know how to deal with them. Love them to pieces though!Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free
