Stand up for tiny lives - online petition
Action Medical Research (Registered Charity No. 208701) is running a great campaign called “Stand up for tiny lives” which includes a petition calling on the Government to double public sector funding for research into both pregnancy complications and the causes of premature birth.
Around 70,000 babies each year - that's over 10 per cent - require some sort of special care when they are born. Tragically, over 3,000 babies die within the first year, and premature birth is the single biggest cause. This issue is very close to my heart as we lost our son last month
Although not premature, he passed away in his father's arms on the day he was born due to complications that arose in our pregnancy.
