Purchase from Play.com

Good Afternoon all.

I'm just after a little bit of advice really and to see if anyone can help me out as to where I stand.

I ordered a DVD from play on the 3rd of June. Almost straight away I got an email saying my card details were incorrect and to check them, as to which I did Straight away and updated them. The email said that I didnt have to do anything else and the order would then be processed.

I have rang play up 6 times in total now, because my order is still only logged as order placed and will be processed shortly. The first three phone calls ended with a sorry and the order will be processed in 48 hrs. The fourth Phone call I asked to speak to someone and was told this wasnt needed and the order will be put through to the warehouse and dispatched. Well this didnt happen. The fifth phone call I was told to cancel the oder - by this time the dvd had gone up in price and i asked that if I canceled would I have to pay the new price, she said yes and then the only option was for her to follow it up and that it would be sorted in....yes 48 hours. So I have just rang for the 6th time, to be told to cancel my order, I went through the whole the price has changed, to which she then replied that is probably the reason why there is a problem as the rise in price. I fail to see this as an acceptable reason as the price was still the lower price when i updated my details and for a few days after. I spoke to the lady and I said that i did not belive she would be in contact as everyone I have spoken to has given me the same 48 hour advice, only for me to have to get back on the phone and chase it again. She said no I will be in contact and is there anything else she can help with....

So I have also written an email of complaint stating I am unhappy with the customer service and basically explaining what I have stated here, but I am sure it will only be passed on to a call centre representative and I will be given the same 48 advice!!

I was just wondering where I stand with this. i understand that it was my error when I input my details wrong, but I rectified this almost straight away when the price was still the original price i purchased it for, am i right to keep fighting for the original price and what would be my next move? I have searched everywhere for an alternative number but they all seem to route through to the philipines. I have asked to speak to someone else but have not been passed on - Can i threaten with anything? I know this is probably a little silly over a small DVD but I dont see why I should have to pay more when i dont feel I am in the wrong.
