Eyebrows.... The perfect arch

Eyebrows are "in" this year, with more definers, powders, waxes and pencils coming out with every coming salesplan. They range from just £1 to an eye watering £20mark
Similar with keeping the unruly beasts in check, the price of going to get them threaded, waxed, shaped or by any other name ripped from your flesh varies depending on technique and establishment. Where I live there are lots of stalls doing Brow beauty for a £5 and superdrug have even branched into it on the high street. Salons vary with research coming up with £5-£15 adverages.
But £5 every 4-6weeks is still too much for me! ( thats £43 quid a year)

Invest in tweezers. A decent pair. I personally went for No7 box of 3 (pointed,, slant, straight) while they were having a £5 off No7 voucher.... yes the vouchers work on ALL No7 products apart from electrics.

Now face your enemy. You need good lighting, I have found that the mirror nearest my front door provides me with shocking relaty most, whih is great just while heading out for a night on the town.
And a magnifying mirror can be the second best investment (x12 is the highest I've found so far. And Its just mesmerisingly scary.)
Lastly take an eyeliner/eyebrow pencil.

Look into a normal magnification mirror
Line it (the pencil) up with the very edge of your nostil going straight along the side of your nose. Make a line up where your eye brows are. Repeat on the other side of your nose. The area inbetween should be a brow free zone(A). BUT DONT PLUCK YET

Next using your trusty eyepencil line it up this time from base of nostril, inline with the outer corner of your eye and up again towards the brow. mark a line. Repeat on the other side. This is where your brow should come to so that it is a full brow and gives devinition(C). STILL DONT PLUCK

Now stare straight forward. above your pupil (the black part of your eye) put a line in your eye brow. repeat on the other side. this is where your arch should hit its peak.(B)

so your brow should go A B c with your brow joining the dots (this is the example for your right eye. reverse or left)

look at your brow. you can move the lines if you really want but these are your guides so be very set on them.

Tweeze! if you find it painful clean the area with an icecube before hand and every few tweezes use a cotton pad to wipe away hairs.
Never pluck past A,, or your brows will be gappy, check in the normal mirror every few tweezes to make sure your not being over zealous. Do not pluck above the brow line. And remember that brows should be more than just one line of hairs.
use a good quality eyebrow pencil to fill and blend to give perfect brows

Hope This Helps,

I have never plucked my eyebrows as every time I've tried it's too painful....I'm a complete wimp!

I'm going to try the ice cube tip this weekend and see if that helps as I do hate having such wild bushy eyebrows...I've even been tempted to shave them but managed to convince myself not a good idea! Have used hair removal cream in the past but really not good for getting sort of shape!

I find the ice cube trick actually makes the pain worse. What works for me is holding a hot flannel against my brows and it seems to make the hairs come out easier.

I love it when eyebrows are 'in'.

I've never plucked mine, except for the odd stray hair towards the ends. Sometimes I'm trendy sometimes I'm not, but at least I have all mine where it's the latest trend.....again :D

I agree - the heat makes the pores open up on the skin thus hair is removed easier and with less pain.
  • Another tip....avoid plucking when due/already started your period as it can be more painful.

I also brush my brows up over & if they appear long, I use a set of hair clippers just to trim the ends. Obviously, you need to becareful when doing this just in case of accident.

That's because heat opens whereas cold 'closes' so you should use heat not cold!!

Get them done professionally the first time, it's not too expensive, usually less than a tenner, then just keep them tidy yourself. If you want!

Obviously never submitted yourself to a bikini wax then:rotfl:

Mine too! They were only ever very blonde and sparse though. I used to try and darken them, but always ended up looking like a clown.

Taking a couple of painkillers before hand especially if your going for a wax or threading helps a lot too:)
