Jsut spoken to them. Apparently they had only closed half the reports... They are refunding my account today

That's good for you cc - but I am tempted to wonder just how many other people get 'caught' this way and don't even bother to question it. :mad: :mad:I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

It is not just for the report which will cost about £2. I am a member of Experian and pay a similar amount. They tell you if/when your credit file is being checked and you can see if it is something you have requested. For example I bought some wine from John Lewis via a credit card and John Lewis went down the road of pre-approving me for an account with them. I said they need not bother because I did not want an account and had not sought one but I would never have known what they were up to had Experian not emailed me.0
