2 jobs - only want sicknote for 1. Can i do this?

Hi i was wondering if anyone could help me. I have never had the need for a sicknote and I am unsure how it works.

At the moment i have 2 jobs. 1 full time and the other part time working 10 hours a week.

My part time post has become very difficult, I have experienced quite a lot of nastiness and been put in an extremely horrible situation.

So much so that about a month ago i started having panic attacks. At first it was just heart palpatations every now and then but then it became near enough constant. I have visited my doctor and i have been put on Beta Blockers to slow my heart rate down and they are working. I have been having a lot less panic attacks. Im not however coping very well with my part time job at all. I dread going in and i feel at the moment unable to deal with it whilst i feel so panicky about going in. Heart palpatations come back a few hours before im due in and i find the times really hard when im there.

However, my full time job couldnt be more supportive. I hate being idle and have never not worked.

I am at the doctors again on monday and would like to request a sicknote for just the part time job. Is this possible to do? Can i get in trouble off any of my jobs for being off sick for one and not the other?

I would be grateful if someone could shed some light on this.

It is the part time job and im afraid its not as simple as that. I rely on my wage from both jobs.

well as it's "fit notes" now I don't see the problem.

job two makes you ill so you are fit to work job one.

The problem is you need a get back to work plan for job 2, so how do you plan to fix the things that make you ill?

I'm sure ou could see some areas in your lifestyle that you could cut back on to be able to drop the 2nd job, even if its only temporary. Clearly the job is making you ill and it not worth it.

Not sure how these new "Fit notes" work but with the previous sicknote you couldn't work fullstop, your either ill and can't work or your fit and ready for work. Don't need a note for the first week anyway IIRC, so take a week off the 2nd job or even use holiday you have (that you have earned not whats available) and look for another 2nd job.
Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.

I think you will find legal implications here.
You are either fit for work, or you are not. That will apply to both jobs.

You cannot work when covered by a sick note, or the employer gets into trouble, and the employers insurance will not cover you.
You not working at the part time job when covered by a sick note is one thing, but then working at the other job makes you guilty of fraud against the part time employer. (And maybe the system too.)

    Uninformed opinion.

It is indeed an uninformed opinion that is completely wrong. Say for example you have two jobs. Job 1 is working in a warehouse picking orders. Job 2 is in a bingo hall calling out numbers. You break your foot. You are completely incapable of doing job 1 but it has no effect on job 2.

There is no fraud, there is no fraud against the system.

To the OP: You need to leave the part time job. It will not get better and you could end up either impacting seriously on the fulltime job or not being capable of working in either and where would that leave you?

I don't always agree with Hammyman but he is 100% right here.

The last line is the only thing correct in this post!

If you know you are uninformed, why post at all?

Ask your GP to write on your sick note that you have ......and are too ill to work Job B, but well enough to do Job A. I'm sure they will do their best for you.
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)
