I know this may possibly be a daft question but I wanted some views please people.
I am looking for a fridge freezer or ideally a second freezer for us to keep a stock that will help us out over the winter and Ive just come across this on ebay. Now storage is no problem and neither is collection
Only thing slightly concerning me is the hole it mentions in the bottom that it mentions. Would this drastically effect the performance of the machine - or will it swallow money and hike up my electric bill? and would you buy it?
Wanted to get some opinions first as Ive no idea about freezers so sorry if its a stupid question.

There must be plenty of freezers available out there, so why get one with a hole in it? I certainly wouldn't pay money for a freezer with a hole in it. Who can say how bad is the condition of the rest of the freezer.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -

What exactly is the hole ? Some freezers are built with a hole in the bottom to drain them when defrosted, but there should be a bung to plug the hole.
If it is a "damage" hole - forget it !0 -
If the hole does not affect the compressor or the working of the freezer then this is NO big deal.
bung it up with mastic and put a bit of diamond plate on the bottom if you are worried.
The price you end up paying is the most important thing......go for it........seems you wont have any bids from previous posters!Political?....I dont do Political....well,not much!0 -
It was not unusual to have a drainage hole in the bottom of a chest freezer.
Quite handy when you come to clean it out.I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0 -
If it's not a drain hole, it'll fill full of rubbish, and if you defrost it it'll fill the insulation full of filthy water.
If it's supposed to be there it'll be sealed through.0
