You know the ribbon you have around the side?? that is ALWAYS pennies in the january sales! ALWAYS ALWAYS! you might already know that, but if not..theres a nice money saving tip for next year!! Save on your cake ribbon - woolies or superdrug or somewhere!!

thanks for the tip re ribbon, that cost me 85p per metre from Boyes, 1 metre does about 3 cakes.

no probs!! there is usually between 5m-10m for between 25p and £1 come sale time! it has wire round the top and bottom so will mould to the cake shape! :money: think wilkinsons etc do it too..the usual suspects!! all colours and designs!

yeah, their for family and close friends. But I made too many so might give leave them at work for people to take home with them, think I'll have 3 left over.
My tip is - use the 51p tins that you get from the supermarket with sponge puddings in, clean them out and this is what I used to make my 4" cakes, ideal for presents!

This is mine, i was very pleased with it, as its my first attempt, and the children and i made the figures out of icing and marzipan!!!! If you click on the pictures, they come up bigger.
