Gas & Elec costs for 2 bed flat
Hi there,
I'm going to be moving in with a friend soon and am just working out budget for bills and living costs. She estimates about £30 each for gas and elec. Does this sound about right or a bit too high? Not sure if she has done a comparison recently but will certainly look into it when I move!

£30pm a month is about right. I share a flat with 2 other people and we spend approx £40pm on elec and gas. I have a key meter for electric, so not the cheapest and that is about £1 p/day. Gas is cheap and we spend £12.50pm. So if you budget for £30pm a month each you will cover your cost easily.
It also depends on things like electirc or gas central heating, electric shower or bater storage heater?
Remeber in the summer your costs are very low and winter they rise, so if you pay be fixed DD or anything remember not to get any credits back during the summer as they will help you pay for the extra you use in the winter.£20k In A Year Challenge100 -
I live in a 1 bed flat and use 3 units per day, plus 3 per night in summer and 10 per night in winter, so call it 7 night units on average per year.
So
12px3 = 36p
+2.5*7=18p
54p per day
around £200 per year, £20 per month.Happy chappy0 -

Get onto the comparison sites, but beware that customer "service" can be a bit lacking with some companies.Happy chappy0
