https://www.rightmove.co.uk covers most estate agents.
Do you know what area of Leicester you are looking at?Gone ... or have I?0 -
Rightmove is definately the best for any part of the country. Where in Leicester do you want to live? Perhaps I can point you in the right direction? My home is usually the House Buying, Renting and Selling Forum where I can be found trying to (sometimes unsucessfully) prove that not all Estate Agents are crooks. With 20 years experience of Sales/Lettings and having bought and sold many of my own properties I've usually got something to say
Ignore......check!0 -
if you say the type of house (modern/old) and area (rural/semi, urban) and pricerange you have in mind we may be able to suggest specific areas
https://www.fish4homes.co.uk covers anythings rightmove doesn't.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -

don't move to Thorpe Astley, property prices there will likely be affected in the next 5-10 years by living with a dual carriageway one side and the M1 on the other side. Apparently there are already complaints about kids with "breathing difficulties". Even if there isn't any link, I'd steer clear.0 -

Hve you seen how many properties are for sale there? Speaks volumes really!
There are many not so "desirable" areas that a lot of people say avoid like the plague but it depends on how much you want to pay and what accommodation you need.My home is usually the House Buying, Renting and Selling Forum where I can be found trying to (sometimes unsucessfully) prove that not all Estate Agents are crooks. Depending on budget I'd recommend West End, Aylestone, Western Park, Wigston (not South Wigston!!!), Hamilton (if you don't mind living on an ever increasing new development), Enderby, Narborough, Glenfield, Syston, East Goscote.
Depends whether you have transport and where you will have to get to to work.0 -
south leicestershire is nice - broughton astley, lutterworth - try https://www.taylors-ea.co.uk for properties :j0

I Live in Loughborough, and my easy, relatively uncongested commute to Leicester is about half an hour. While I wouldn't neccesarily recommend Loughborugh for your move (its a great little town but due to the massive student popoulation property prices are over-inflated) I'd definitely suggest you consider moving north of the city.
Aside from the beautiful Charnwood Forest countryside and nice villages in NW Leics, I say this because Leicester itself (dispite some recent regeneration and investment in culture and the arts) is far from what I would consider a cosmopolitan, vibrant cultural and commerical centre. The shopping, restaurants bars etc are average, and in this respect you are much better served by local Birmingham and Nottingham, easily reached from north west Leicestershire. If you lived south or east of the city you'd be near Northampton and Peterborough which are not particularly inspiring in that respect either. If you're near the M1 too, you can be in Manchester or London in less than 2 hours.
As a previous poster said, if you suggested the kind of living environment (rural/village/suburb) you prefer, I could give you loads of ideas of great areas.
Good luck!0 -

What kind of purchase price are you looking at? Rightmove covers the majority of EAs (including Taylors as mentioned in a previous post). The area to look at will depend on your transport requirements, work needs, education needs etc. Perhaps you can provide a bit more info about what you are after and we can then pinpoint several area for you to have a look at.
ALternatively I woudl suggest you rent for a while and then take a look at the various areas for buying purposes.Mortgage start September 2015 £90000 MFiT #060
