I parked my Rover 800 in a farmyard for nearly two years. The battery was knackered but still under guarantee so I took it back to Halfords and exchanged it. It started first time even on the old fuel. Everything worked... brakes, aircon, electrics, everything.
I took it for an MoT more to find out what I needed to do to it than anything else but the guy said there was nothing wrong with it and gave it a ticket.0 -
Nobody's mentioned tyres. Is the rubber likely to remain in good condition after staying in the same position unused for 2 years?0

Agreed apparently having the weight sat on one spot of the tyre for a long period will weaken it. My wife had a blow out on the motorway due to this and wrote the car off and a work mate did substantial damage to his caravan for the same reason.0 -
The op asked about starting.
Mine needed brakes, (everything, brakepipes, master cylinder, calipers, the lot), exhausts, tyres, bulbs, fuel tank, gaiters, and I had to get a new windscreen made as I cracked the old one years ago.0 -

Those fitted with the Honda V6's were the cream, virtually silent, totally reliable, comfortable and swift in a poised refined way, not a car for hooligans.
Go back to P5's and 6's with the 3.5 V8 and that was motoring heaven.
If they'd stayed in business i'd probably have a 75 by now...though preferably a RWD with the V8.0
