My other half has just phoned me to say that this has just come up on my laptop at home. How come mcafee doesn't pick it up?

I've told her not to use the laptop & I will try to fix it when I get home.

Because it's a very poor AV program. Ditch it for something decent: the free programs (Avast, Avira or MSDE) are all better than McCrapee.
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
