WLM, contact won't add on one computer

OK so I have a major problem, which is computer specific.

A contact will not appear in messenger, and if I try to add them there i get told they are already added, and I've tried re-adding them nothing works.

Its fine on all other computers and web messenger.

I've tried deleting the contacts folder in the Appdata folder, I've tried reinstalling using the Windows live essentials package, but it doesn't help.

Usually I would run Revo Uninstaller, but I use Windows Live Mail too, and really don't want that to end up being effected, cause that would be far too much hassle, has anyone got any ideas?

Basically I need to totally remove all traces of windows live messenger 2011 but not effect the other packages and I doubt that's possible.

Sorry maybe I did not make it clear, it is only on the one computer I am having problems, we can talk on other computers and on web messenger.

Oh and I get his social updates on the computer where he doesn't appear as a contact.

what happens from his end? does he see you come on line and can he send you messages when you're on that computer?

No, when I am on the computer where he doesn't appear in my contact list I appear offline to him.

simplest thing might be for him to create another profile (msn ) for u and him both; or perhaps try an alternative to live messenger .

Thanks, but I really looking for a way to make it work like its supposed to.

I mean obviously we have other methods of communication and making new profiles is hardly a solution, having to sign on separately to talk to one person.

Try deleting him from your messenger contacts online. When you log onto a different PC he's there which means he's in your contact list, so when you try and re-add him from that PC it gets rejected (as you're not adding him to the PC but to messenger..... where he already exists.....)
If you go into Hotmail on the 'messenger' tab it has your contacts, try deleting him from there and the re-adding and see if he appears
