Hi
I'm going away travelling for the next year or so and have been looking at what cards to use abroad. I have applied and got the Halifax Clarity Card, but my credit limit isn't huge. And so I wanted a normal account to use as well, and N&P seems to be the best.
For the Gold Light Account you have to make 5 transactions a month, but I was wondering what actually counts as a transaction? Does a money withdrawal? Or even transferring money into the account from another account? I know there is also the Gold Account but I'm not keen on the paying in £500 everymonth.
Thanks in Advance

Have you considered a pre-paid credit card such as FairFX?0

Yeah I had looked at those cards but because I'll be moving around a number of different countries with different currencies and since the cards have to be set up for one currency, I didnt see any advantage over the N&P account. My problem is just what counts as a transaction.0

I don't own or use the account, but from my previous research (was tempted to apply for one but didn't in the end):
Payments INTO the account, any payments OUT of the account (BACS, Standing Order, Direct Debit, Debit Card) all counts.
Not sure if internal transfers count.
Hence if you are cheeky it looks like you can pay 4p into the account from another bank and then BACS out 4*1p payments to fulfil the requirements!0 -
Thanks for the advice, think i'l get one of those accounts now0
