Simply put, I think that as this sort code is so new, the uk payments council still haven't fully recognised it and until they do, then UKPLC wont touch it.

    Or so it seems.

According to the uk payments council website, Halifax need to apply to them to get accreditation.

However, Halifax customer service manager states that my sort code has full compliance and its everybody else that's slow. Hey, he's very probably correct. Probably in six months or so all will be well. Its just not just now. So regardless of who is to blame, the account is of limited use as a current account at the moment.

The Payments Council will certainly recognise it as a sort code.

It sounds like the fault lies with your employer or their bank - they haven't updated their sort code directory yet (banks are supposed to do it every 2 weeks but many don't) so are refusing any payments sent to that sort code.

As you say, it should sort itself out once your employer or their bank gets their act together.

I think that is the problem, as when you apply online your account is allocated to your nearest branch. Why didnt you just apply for the BOS Reward account? You'd have saved yourself a lot of hassle

Halifax had £50 cashback via quidco. BOS didnt. If I knew then what I know now etc.......

Its not the end of the world. I'll simply wait until the cashback is paid and then switch to BOS reward account.

The payments council recognise it fine. they have it as a specialist account (whatever that means) and that it can accept BACS, but not faster payments or chaps. Have a look

    sort code is 11-49-43

I opened it too with £50 quidco mine still hasnt tracked either.

However, I do like their online banking I don't use it as my main account just wanted the £5 reward every month and the quidco payment.

Oh its getting better! Today paypal recognised it as a valid sort code and as a SPECIALIST bank account. Last week it was 'invalid sort code' Howvever they are refusing to set it up as its a specialist account! ho hum :-)
