If you were to say you were off sick then you would need to self cert for a week, then get a note of your doctor, i assume you didn't do this so i would say the sacking was legal.0

If you got jailed for possession it was probably hard drugs not just a bit of weed. If you were holding it for someone else that's possession with intent to supply and you can get jailed for that as well even if it's puff.

crime was possetion of ilegal substances ,alltho am not a user ,and my employer was aware of the crime for about 1 year , as this is the lengh of time before prosicution,if that was the case why did he not sack me 1 year ago when i 1rst told him i was at court for that offence ? he still kept my emploment going knowing well what the crime was for a long period of time
Until convicted you were considered innocent, so had he sacked you before that and you had gone on to be proved not guilty you would have had grounds to sue for unfair dismissal. You will not get any further with this, it is a side effect of being involved in illegal activities I am afraid.0 -
as other have stated in other posts
Your employer would not have been able to sack you before your conviction as this WOULD have been unfair dismissal. Innocent until proven Guilty.
You were sent to prison for 9 months but only served 3 months.
Employer is entitled to terminate your employment as you were in prison.
You were not made redundant, by getting sent to prison you basically sacked yourself!0 -
You would not be made redundant unless the job no longer exists. Redundancy is for a position, ie job, rather than for a person. If you no longer have a job, unless nobody else is doing that job you will have been sacked.0
