With a standing charge, you pay a fixed amount no matter how much energy you use, plus you pay for what you use.
e.g. like a BT bill - you pay a fixed line rental then pay for the calls on top too.
With no standing charge, there is no fixed payment - so if you use nothing, you pay nothing. However, typically the initial quantity of units used is charged at a higher rate. Essentially it distributes the standing charge over an initial quantity of units (thereafter you pay the same base unit charge as if you were on a standing charge tariff)
So if you use less than the tier 1 limit, then you may be better off on a NSC tariff.
Hoiwever, the total cost is what is the most important, not how they bill you."Now to trolling as a concept. .... There is OES14 - as an existing customer, you'll need to call SP if you want it."Now to trolling as a concept. ....
