I am a member of police staff and I will be told soon that I am to be made redunudant.
Since this process started the police have stopped all recruitment to redeploy staff that are at risk.
A police officer has recently retired, but has now been re-employed as a police staff employee and is currently training for that role. I am only aware of this one officer being re-employed as it is happening at my station/place of work, but I am sure in an organisation this large it a probability that there will be more.
It seems very unfair that exsisting police staff are losing their jobs when ex officers are being re employed after they retire from the force.
Can anyone help with advice on this matter as I am more than capable of doing the job the ex officer has been re employed to do.
Foolishly I am not in a union and understandably the union will not offer help to any new members ubntil they have been a member for three months (I will probably be out of work by then)
thanks
