Help Please!

Hi guys,

I'm new to the forum so go easy on me :) I have one credit card the Tesco one that has 0% for 13 months, the 0% period runs out in December.

I have just bought a new car and am wanting another credit card that has 0% for at least 12 months so that I can use it to pay my car insurance on my new car as being 21 years old and living in West Yorkshire my car insurance is around £1000 a year and I don't want to pay the damn APR that car insurance companies charge when you pay monthly.

I applied for the M&S Credit Card a couple of weeks back but got declined, now I daren't apply for another because I read somewhere if you've been declined in the last month they won't accept you. Please help, what should I do?

I am a Halifax customer and was thinking of applying with them but I don't have the Ultimate Reward account, just a regular current account.

I look forward to your helpful opinons. Thanks for reading.

Rachael

Is your salary paid into your Halifax current account?

    What's your:

    Income
    Tesco limit
    Tesco balance

How about a parent applying for a card and putting your insurance on that?...and you then repaying them monthly?

    I'm a low earner, £10800 a year after tax.

    My Tesco Limit is £1000

I currently have £736 to repay on it :o

My mother probably has a worse credit rating than I do and she only works part time so I wouldn't be able to get a card in her name.

Maybe you should chance an application with Halifax then?

If that fails, then just pay off the Tesco card with your savings and then use the card for the insurance. You have got the money set aside to cover the Tesco spending?

I have budgeted £100 per month to pay off the Tesco Card before the 0% period ends, which I will definately do, but I don't have it set aside in full to pay it off straight away. I have just seen on here today Virgin are doing one 0% for 13 months, I am unsure whether to apply for that or the Halifax one.
