Kitchen sink but something different

For years we have had a single drainer sink, stainless steel with the standard multi tap thingy. It was real cheap. It wobbles, has a cheap feel, ......

So getting a new kitchen and still with only space for a single drainer - single sink bit we would like something:

sturdy
hard wearing
perhaps a colour, a bit different
inside our £350 budget for sink, taps, plumbing bit/kit

Now I thought that might be easy but am really struggling to find something. Anyone got something similar they could recommend?

Have you looked at the Franke Maris MRG611 sink? It comes in four colours I think and from what I've been told by friends Franke are the best when it comes to sinks.

We are having a new kitchen and my tap is brushed nickel so I wasnt sure if it would look right with a stainless steel sink(originally I was getting Franke Alpina APX611) so I've gone for the Maris in graphite. Haven't got it yet but cheapest I've found is £216 on www.frankekitchensinks.co.uk

I'm about to get the Rangemaster black ceramic sink, it's beautiful! They are about to launch a new design of this, so if you can fit the current one into your kitchen you may get it for a bargain in a few weeks!
I've seen it on ebay for under £250 delivered.

We have just installed a Franke Calypso sink into our new kitchen yesterday. Ours is graphite colour.

I suspect there are quite a few within your budget. Just stick with a good brand as suggested.

    Hi

Have a look at Blanco. I think they are generally better quality than Franke. Nowadays Franke make very little product themselves, it is mainly out sourced, where as Blanco virtually everything is made by them in Germany, so they have a much tighter control of the quality.

    Good luck.

Many Tx for the suggestions. The blanco seems to have the most options for me. Franke one or two.

Clearly I'llhave to double my sink/tap budget from £300 to £600

I guess the problem with the 'home' industry is that the bog standard is produced in such vast numbers it is cheap, very cheap; anything a bit different and the numbers are much much less and the prices go through the roof.

I've noticed this especially with radiators. Standard £36 - put a flat fascia on it and its £150!!
