Which category for a semi-functional item?

Where do you draw the line between the 'used' and the 'for parts or not working' categories for an electronic item, in this case a camera? I want to sell an old camera which still takes pictures but there are several problems with it that may or may not be able to be fixed by someone that knows more about cameras than I do. The main problem is that the battery only works when you press it down (or use a bit of cardboard to keep it pressed down) and there are cosmetic problems like the black paint peeling off it. Which category should I list it in?

I would list as parts or not working & say that it works but... listing the problems.

Be very specific as to what the problems are. A lot of the problems with spares/repairs is that people list things which are impossible to salvage and expect the buyer to know what's wrong without telling them. Someone buying an item like that probably needs to know what the issues are so they can judge whether they are able to fix it. I sold an iPod like this last autumn and made a good deal more than I expected to, with no problems.

A good photo helps - use html code to insert a large picture into the listing as well as sometimes eBay's own photos don't show detail very well.

Personally I don't think I would put a Condition at all in this case. I would just leave it blank and put a full description in the listing along the lines of how you have just described it to us.
I would give it a longer listing, giving people the chance to find it, ask questions and think about whether they want to buy or not.
In my first line would be something like For parts or possible repair only.

Be specific with the faults, and with areas still working. List if you've tested any working bits and how accurate. I've bought cameras from Ebay before to repair, as there's several faults that can be easily fixed... Prob list it as spares if you want to put anything in 'condition' at all.
