Ok well to start with my OH is a complete idiot
He decided to defrost the freezer this morning whilst i was in the bath using a knife and a hammer
He has managed to put a hole in the metal and it is now making a hissing noise which i can only presume is the gas leaking out
Have just found something by googling about using epoxy?
Does anyone know if this will work or what type i would need to use?
Is it safe at the moment? I have 2 young children.
If epoxy isnt a solution does anyone know of anything i could try that would keep it going til after xmas?
This really is the last thing i need on top of xmas as well

If the gas is leaking,(and it sounds like it is), you will need to repair the hole in the pipe that has been punctured, assuming this can be done, you will then need the system "regassing" this will need to be done by an engineer as it is a specialist job requiring specialist equipment and will probabaly cost around £60, maybe more. The freezer will be useless without the gas in it.Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0

:rotfl: Sorry
The hole in the pipe will have to be brazed to repair it, epoxy will not work(to much pressure)
I persume it is inside the cabinate, and when being brazed it will burn the plastic coating making a mess of it.
IMO best to put the money saved(not repairing) to the cost of a new one.
If you have accidental insurance you may well be able to claim.0
