Hi
This is probably a bizarre question, but can anyone tell me if it is possible for me to open a current account (I need a debit card) + savings/ISA without my partner (who I live with currently) knowing? I need to make plans for MY future (which does not involve him) and I am worried that if a bank does a credit check on me it will show up on his Credit Expert report as our names are linked on there. Are there any banks that are more inclined to be paperless than others? It will be hard to keep the account secret if there are hordes of letters arriving from the bank.
Thanks for your help.

hmmmm something isn't right here... (anyway!)
open the account and use your mothers address as proof of address (because they will send you a pin and debit card)
then get ya online banking details and make the account GREEN = no paper/letters etc
then change the address to your main one (but that can still be a risk..)• HSBC (Main A/C)
• Halifax Back up A/C
• Lloyds (Spending) A/C
• RBS Back up A/C
• Barclays Old A/C
• Nationwide Old A/C0 -

Yes, you're right, something isn't right here. We've been together for a lot of years, and let's just say it has not been a happy relationship for most of that time. I've put up with years of misery and now it's time to make plans to move on. Hence why I would prefer him not to know.
Using my mums address is a good idea, thanx.0
