Moving house-can I get cashback-or do I use existing then switch?

Hi there, I have just moved house. I am an avid user of Top Cashback, and wanted to use this to gain cashback on my Utilities. The problem I have is all the cashback sites only talk about if you switch Gas and Electricity suppliers, not if you a brand new customer. I have heard I need to first of all go with the properties current Gas/Elec provider, then I can switch straight away....can anyone help me with the best process? Many thanks!

Hi haybarnett - With your move to the new house, you will have inherited whatever company supplied that house before you moved in - If you did not give this supplier the meter readings when you moved in, DO SO NOW.
As a 'New Account' this supplier would have put you on thier Expensive "Standard" tariff, so it would be wise to Switch immediately, and as this is a Switch you can go for cash-back0 -
you are not joining you are switching, contact whoever currently provides to your address and give them your name + opening meter readings, they will setup an account for you, make sure they don't upsell oyu onto a tied in tariff with cancellation charges.
then get onto uswitch and / or top cash back and immediately initiate a cashback switch, probably needing to be to to A N other company but can't always have everything.0
