I'm not usually a total idiot, but I can't make up my mind if this email is genuine or not... My gut feeling says 'not'.... but I might be just paranoid... The email was headed as opening title and contains the following info:

    It forgot to ask you other relevant questions such as:
    • your mother's maiden name
    • the name of your first pet
    • the name of your bank/s
    • full address
    • passport sized photos

    check microsoft's website for service updates/upgrades/notifications.

    I think it's legit. Microsoft obviously forgot your username and password and need these details to reactivate your account.

    Anything that asks for personal details is a scam!! Especially if received in an email.

    Thanks everyone... I thought it was fishy.... but I thought I would check with the forum just in case... I never noticed the threat of suspending my account within 24 hours...etc etc.... so it is obviously a scam... It must be the pills I am on.....

    They would NEVER EVER EVER asks for your password - you are the only person that needs that. It would be the equivalent of being asked for your PIN by bank staff.
