Reclaim PPI if claimed on policy?

Hi There,
I've tried to find the answer to this question before and never got anywhere so wondering if someone could help...
I had a Barclays loan some time ago and had PPI included. I had additional GAP insurance on the loan and made a claim on that. Would I still be eligible to make a claim on the PPI in this instance? I did do the template letters a year or so back and after 4 or 5 attempts of recieving the same "You made a claim you're not entitled" replies, I must admit I gave up.
But with the new furore over claiming, just wondering if anyone knew the legalities?
Thanks.

Hi Bozz
There is actually a comment Martin made about this.
Depending on your reasons for mis sale -despite making a successful claim its known now you can still make a reclaim.
However, if successful what you will receive will be reduced due to already receiving so much of the insurance benefit.
Have you already claimed on the insurance?
Until January 2010 it had been generally assumed you couldn't make a mis-selling complaint if you'd already made a successful insurance claim. Yet proposals from the regulator now mean more people could be entitled to compensation.
Anyone who has claimed on a PPI policy can still submit a mis-selling complaint, using the timeframes above, though the chances of success are unclear. However, even if you're not successful, you may be able to cancel your insurance.

GAP insurance is completely seperate to PPI anyway, so (if you have valid reasons for a mis-sale) you should absolutely make a complaint of mis-sold PPI right this second.
Right now.
