Lloyds TSB or HSBC?

I currently have an account with both Lloyds TSB and HSBC, but I want to close one and just CANNOT decide! In the next 3-4 years I plan on moving to New York so am thinking that HSBC may be a better option? On the other hand Lloyds TSB apparently have better customer service and are less strict with customers who have a less than great credit rating. My credit rating is not great at the moment, so does that have an impact on how either bank will treat me? Which is better overall? Also, are HSBC quite snobby/elite in comparison? For example are they picky with who they accept for even basic accounts?

Please help!
