Faulty Intel SSD Hard Drives

I bought 2 160GB Intel SSD's from eBay about 6 months ago, they had a 90 day warranty. I didn't try to use them until recently and whilst they worked fine initially, I have since connected them to a USB to Micro Sata adaptor I bought from eBay and I think it has blown something inside them as now neither of them are working.
Any ideas techies?

When you buy replacements don't connect them to some Chinese no brand adaptor?====0 -
I have to ask, are they genuine?0

D123, hindsight is a wonderful thing, thanks for the advice!
CHC: I believe so... I paid near RRP for them from a reputable seller, is there any way of me checking?0 -
So anyone know anyone who can repair these sort of things?0

Does this utility tell you anything useful about the status of the drives?
If you are connecting them to a "known good" controller and they are simply not responding then I'd hazard a guess that they are probably ready to be recycled. However, I would contact Intel first, as they may do something for you as a gesture of goodwill (if you don't mention using a cheap no-name Chinese SATA adaptor!).0 -
Tried that already, doesn't even see the drives.
I am using a controller that I know is good now but it seems as though the damage is already done. Intel customer support won't do anything as they want to see a proof of purchase from a company which I can't provide as I only have a Paypal order. £450 wasted on drives and there is nothing I can do about it, a very expensive lesson indeed!
Thanks to everyone that tried to help.0
