Just got this email through about the hikes - can not believe it..
Dear
You may have seen in the news recently that rising prices have been making the headlines. Prices for many things, from food to petrol, have gone up. Wholesale energy prices have been rising dramatically too, and although we've been doing what we can to absorb these costs for as long as possible, we now have to increase our prices.
Your new prices
The new prices will come into effect from 1st August 2011. Please see below to see what they mean for you.
Electricity Tariff: WWW Domestic Single Rate Premier Plus Electricity prices Current† New† Daily Service Charge 12.18p 23.64p All/Day Units kWh 11.244p 11.244p Gas Tariff: WWW Premier Plus Gas prices Current† New† Daily Service Charge 24.17p 30.69p All/Day Units kWh 2.958p 3.545p
†All prices shown in the table exclude VAT. Note that VAT at the applicable rate (currently 5%) is applied to domestic energy bills in Great Britain.
It is the daily service charge for electricity that is increasing by 100%, so how can you help cut your own electricity bill and be a bit more conservative - YOU CAN NOT - how very cunning of them - I have started the switch process with EDF last friday via U Switch but have heard nothing - hope it switches before they hike theirs too!! Food and Smellies Shop target £50 pw - managed average of £49 per week in 2013 down to £38.90 per week in 2016
