Yes perhaps I did over-react, but none the less, welcome to the forum, Burnsy.0

More than what the customer could be paying if the house was energy efficient perhaps?
What`s with the nitpicking?
If I switch to a cheaper supplier/tariff my house doesnt suddenly become a lot less energy efficient does it?
No, it would stay about the same, as would my usage, therefore I would be paying less.Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0 -

OK, I'd originally thought that you'd just mis-understood the OP, now I'm starting to agree with Ken68.
It's pretty obvious that the OP means you'd be paying them more than you need to, and someone has already commented to explain this to you. OK, it could have been worded better, but give the guy a break...I am an employee of British Gas, however the views expressed on this post are mine and do not necessarily reflect the views of Centrica, its subsidiaries or affiliated companies.0 -

Isn't boiler.org a USA website?
The UK database on boilers in SEDBUK.
So surprised the OP mentioned boiler.org0 -
I do have an over-75 mother, who did have a house with poor insulation. The old fibre glass in the loft were like a cheap toupee,
so of course she should qualify for free insulation. E.On just refers the job to some other company.
1. One surveyor says the loft was too low, so they can't send anybody up there. This is despite my builders traipsing up there so much that we had put permament strip lights up there. Eventually Miller Pattison did the job, but they will only lay the easy bits. Areas like above the bay windows (crawl space) they won't do, and they won't even leave the rockwool for me to do, because they are not allowed to.
2. She also has solid walls, not cavity wall. So you could say she needs the insulation MORE than somebody who has cavity walls. NOT COVERED. I am putting in internal thermal plaster on exterior walls as we decorate the rooms, so it will be years before it's all done.
I have just bought 20 bags of thermal plaster for about £350, having spent about £500 last year on a more expensive (but not as good) make. I am seriously interested in knowing which thermal plaster this newbie energy expert would recommend, assuming I can have a maximum depth of 30mm from bare brick.
No cop outs like recommending a thermal plaster board instead, because the plasterboard will stick out farther than the window shelf.
Hint, one of the thermal plaster makers will only sell to trade, and they expect you to use one of their professional agents, who will of course be more expensive than my plasterer.0
