Troublesome Buyer

I've only been using eBay since February and already seeing that there are some unusual characters using it.

Shortly after starting I sold a fairly small value item. The Buyer took an age to pay but finally did after I opened a non-payment case.

A few weeks later the same guy bought another item from me. After 10 days he still didn't pay and I opened a non-payment case. eBay almost immediately cancelled the sale as he was no longer a registered eBay user. I added his email address and user name to my blocked list.

On 5th June I had an auction close and when I saw the confirmation details from eBay the name and address rang a bell. Sure enough it is this same guy but with a different account name and email address. Now I hoped that all would go well and wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. After 3 days no payment so I sent a polite email asking if he was happy with the purchase. No reply. On day 6 I did the same. No reply. Now 10 days later what should I do? I suspect he has bid just to try to get revenge for me opening NPD on him before and that he will then once paid make some excuse about non receipt or damage then give me negative feedback.

Should I open a non-payment case and risk a neg if he pays?

Should I report the matter to eBay as he has it would seem closed one account because of problems and opened another account and still messing around?

Yes and yes. He'll probably get booted off again. If you refer them to the other user id and the items they purchased from you that they never paid for.

Thanks. If he did subsequently pay and leave negative feedback, is it usual for eBay to remove it providing I showed what he had done before?

It is easier to get eBay to act now and boot him off, it will cancel the sale and remove the feedback threat.

Ring them, not live chat, and have the two user ids, item numbers and personal details at hand, if you are efficient, they will be more likely to deal with you promptly than try and fob you off.
