Company overdue situation advice, no business nonresident

Greetings,
My friend recommended me to come to this forum for best advice, I would like to thank you in advance for your time and attention:
I registered “XXX Ltd” with company House as a sole director while I was in the UK in January 2010 (I am not of UK nationality), before any business activity was started, I returned to my country due to emergency situation in family in May 2010.
However, I have been unable to get back to the UK or get in touch with company house because of an unexpected traffic accident after I was back home, which gave me physical injuries and is still keeping me in very slow recovery.
Now as I have seen an overdue sign on company house's website, I would like to ask if there have been any tax issues or fees occurred or financial penalties so far as I was unable to contact company house earlier or receive any correspondence from overseas address. Shall I also contact HMRC regarding this issue?
Besides, I have no intention to go back to the UK or to start any business under “XXX Ltd” in my country, or there is any bank account linked to it, I would like to ask for your kind advice as to what I should do with this situation, eg would you advise me to keep this company permanently dormant or closed? What are the instructions please?
Thank you very much again!

You can contact Companies House via email or telephone ... and as you have managed to sign up here I don't understand what injuries you sustained in in a traffic accident that prevents you contacting Companies House.
Companies House does not get involved in your companies tax liabilities - you will need to contact HMRC about that.
Any formal correspondence would probably be sent to your registered office address. It's up to you to have set up a forwarding service if you cannot get to the office to collect such mail. The registered office is an address where legally notices can be served on your company, so you need to get this sorted out pronto!
There are responsibilities with setting up a company, and this is just one small but important one.
If you no longer require the limited company, you can ask for it to be struck off ... or it may be compulsorily done so soon if you don't meet your responsibilities."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Personally, I've always found it a little sad that people choose to spend such a large proportion of their lives in this way but they do, and we have to deal with it." - MSE Forum Manager 6th July 20100 -
Thanks for your post, I have just been able to get access to computer/internet a short while ago, I would like to get some idea about what I can do before addressing all issues entirely to company house..0
