Electricity usage...

I'm helping someone, who has just moved into a new flat, to switch their Electric...

They didn't take an electric meter reading when they moved in (slap on the wrist)

Is there another way to find out how much they have used since they moved in? Will the Elec company (Spark Energy) tell us over the phone?

Either that or if you know the whereabouts of the people who moved out they will maybe have a note of their final reading.

the flat has been vacant for 6 months so no idea on the old tenants. hopefully spark will behave out of character and actually be helpful on this one lol

Surely the landlord or letting agent should have the final readings in that case, Im surprised they have not taken readings just before or as yur friend moved in to be honest, have you asked them, queer sort of landlords IMO
