Evo-stik speed grout

Has anyone used the above product instead of 'normal' grout? It looks so much cleaner and the finishing tool that comes with it looks handy, just wondered if there are any useful reports out there?

Another triumph of marketing hype over practicality and usefullness. Unless it's epoxy then it won't be waterproof either.

    Cheers

I tried this and can say it was utterly utterly useless! Took it back to Homebase and got my money back (the woman serving me did look at me a bit funny but i did say that it was v hard to get the grout out and was certainly not speedy!) I thought it was my cartridge gun at first but no the stuff was just far too solid to get out. I'd recommend mixing or gettin ready mixed grout and goin down that route, along with all other equipment to spread it and clean up.

Not too expensive. Hope this helps, its not too hard grouting once u get into it.

there isnt going to be anything faster than grouting using a squeegee - using a gun type thing to go along joints will take ages!

dunno if you know how to grout but:
    1. get some trade (granfix, bal, mapei) waterproof powdered grout, mix it with water to a sort of mouse type consistency (hard to describe that bit!)
    2. using a rubber squeegee spread it all over the tiles working it into the joints
    3. once it mists over A LITTLE BIT! (dont let it go hard) use a damp sponge to wipe it off, if you have left the grout long enough it should give you a nice clean joint.
    4. wait until it completely mists over (30-60mins) and using a dry cotton cloth buff it all off. pay special attention to any uneven joints

do one wall\section of a wall at a time - its very quick

Thanks guys. It was only the downstairs loo that needed doing, that's why I thought it would be handy. I had already bought some grout, so it's all done now.
