Options
Hey everyone!

I'm looking for a TV and Broadband Package,

Currently I'm with Sky.
Contract finished over a year ago and I'm now paying £25.50pm for 2mb Broadband and Basic Sky+

Can anyone recommend any deals or the best way to haggle sky down?

Thanks in advance! Love the site btw

call sky and say want to leave, they will give you 50% off for 6 months
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

I thought the basic package was £20, you could knock off 5 mixes.

That's what I was thinking of doing!

    And I'm paying £25.50pm for:

    Sky+ Subscription £0.00
    2 Pack £20.50
    Subtotal: £20.50

    Sky Broadband

    Sky Broadband Everyday Lite £5.00
    Subtotal: £5.00

    Total = £25.50

Correct me if I'm wrong, but surely if I'm paying £5pm for broadband then I shouldn't be capped to 2mb? I know for a fact I'm capable of 4mb at least as our line noise is only at 17db (Min being 7db) which means we could be doubled in speed.

Sky broadband every day lite is up to 20Mbps, its capped at 2Gb, and should be free, with the calls package.

Post your router stats to see what your line is capable of.

For some reason Sky have capped your line, has it been noisy previously?
You should be getting around 8Mbps with your 49db line.

BTW are the stats taken from you master socket, preferably with no other connections.

IIWY I'd get onto Sky and ask them to tweak your speed.

We used to have a really bad line. Lots of noise, couldn't even get a stable connection at 512kbps. Since then we've had the BT line replaced. I assumed from Sky's website that it would automatically adjust to the changes. Evidently not ahaha.

Would you recommend I call now asking them to speed me up?

If you have a split faceplate master socket remove it and plug the router into the test socket and redo your stats.

As far as I know Sky only run DLM when the line is initially set up.

Then give Sky a call, at some point they may want to test the phone line so have your mobile handy.

They will be able to see your stats at their end.
