Hi, next term i'm going to malaysia to study,
The problem is I don't really know what i should do about access to money, I have a solo and maesto card but I really don't want to be charged 2.5% of whatever everytime I take money out!
Whats the best thing I should do
Open a new bank account (effort! haha)
or
Traveller's cheques
or is there an easier way?
thanks alot! I really appreciate any help!

As kerrs69 says. Open Nationwide account, get the debit card to go with it. Make local currency withdrawals from ATMs without commision or charges.
Also consider the Nationwide credit card for commision free purchases while overseas. You can administer the accounts online.
